What is cold or tempered bath pickling?
In industry, pickling in an ambient temperature bath refers to a surface cleaning or treatment process that occurs at room temperature. That is, at the normal temperature of the environment, without the need for heating. This process often involves immersing parts or components in a chemical bath or solution specially formulated to remove coatings, contaminants, or impurities present on the surface of substrates. These baths contain chemicals such as pickling agents that work to dissolve or break down undesirable layers. This allows for effective cleaning or surface preparation for further treatments. This type of treatment is generally used in many industrial sectors (aerospace, automotive, chemical industry, metal parts manufacturing, etc.) where thorough surface cleaning is necessary to ensure the quality and performance of final products.
How to strip paint?
To strip paint, varnish, or lacquer, there are several methods: spraying, immersion, soaking, manual application. Depending on the surface to be treated, the method will vary.
Stripping paint on metal
Several of our strippers are effective in removing various coatings on metal.
EPOXY 40 ECO is specifically formulated to remove thin paints such as epoxy polyester, polyester, acrylics, vinyl, as well as all unpainted paints on ferrous metals and aluminum.
SCALPIK L 300 is a liquid stripper without methylene chloride, which effectively removes various types of paints (powder paints, epoxy, polyester, etc.) as well as varnishes on steel and aluminum. This product is specially recommended for stripping paint defects in series.
Stripping paint on wood
Several of our strippers are effective in removing various coatings on wood.
SCALP DMC 74 LIQUIDE is an alkaline stripping solution designed for wood. We have specially developed this stripping agent by immersion for cleaning and stripping these materials. You can use it ready to use, but it is also possible to dilute it by 50% in some cases.
SCALPIK L 20NG SCALPIK L 20NG is a liquid paint stripper, designed for ultra-fast action by cold bath immersion. We have formulated this stripper without dichloromethane, making it an ideal choice for wood. This soaking stripper offers excellent adhesion and effectively removes paints such as epoxy polyester, acrylics, vinyls, paints from cataphoresis as well as some varnishes. Once your substrate is stripped, it is recommended
to degrease it.
